The book of Enoch is a lost treasure that I am glad that I was able to find. This book gives insite to the Christian and Jewish faith. It can also be thought of as more of a pure source. I say this because it has not been translated as manytimes as other religious works. If you have the time and the desire to explore your faith I would really recommend this book.
Schodde's translation was published in 1882, and was based on only a few available manuscripts. His translation was already severely criticized for being mediocre by R.H. Charles in the early twentieth century. All later translations ranging from that of Charles 1912 to Nickelsburg and VanderKam 2004 are better, and only collectors should consider buying this book.
If you compare the R.H. Charles translation with this translation you will find that the George Henry Schodde translation is a very good and often better translation than Charles. I highly recommend it.
It was wonderful to be able to find and purchase this book on ! This is great study guide and I love comparing it to scriptures in the Bible. This book is a little more detailed than the Mysteries of Enoch, which I love also. Thank you for carrying this book! It is a value product for an excellent purchase price. Thanks again!
